1.  Black Streaks on your roof:  More than just an eyesore

Those black stains you see on your shingles are certainly not aesthetically pleasing, but did you know that they
can also be a sign of deterioration in shingles?  The stains are actually caused by Gloeocapsa Magma, a bacterial
organism that, among other things, digests the limestone filler material in your shingles.  While many people
don't realize it, because of the damaging effects caused by this bacteria if left untreated, many insurance
companies are actually cancelling their customers' homeowners insurance policies if the damaging bacteria is
not removed.  No need to worry, however.  We have the tools and knowledge necessary to soft-wash your shingles
and remove these stains for a lot less than it would cost to replace your roof.  Don't just take our word for it, though.
Here are several of the many articles in publication regarding the issue:

-Article in The Washington Post about Gloeocapsa Magma

-Article in Consumer Reports about insurance policy cancellations due to Gloeocapsa Magma

-Homeowners Insurance website discussing the negative effects of Gloeocapsa Magma

2.  Don't trust just anyone to clean concrete:  Improper technique can cause permanent damage

Inexperienced contractors can cause irreversible damage to your concrete driveway, patio, and sidewalks.  Did
you know that using too much pressure to pressure-wash concrete actually removes the top layer of concrete
known in the industry as "the cream?"  It is vital that only the minimal pressure is used, and this necessitates
using the correct spray tips and holding the equipment a specific distance from the surface.  While it might be
tempting to rent a pressure washer from your local DIY super store and do it yourself, just bear in mind that it
only takes a moment to permanently damage your concrete.  By the same token, it's no secret that there are
dozens of fly-by-night contractors out there offering you bargain-basement pricing to clean your property.  Are
you really prepared to entrust your property to one of these contractors who will likely disappear into the
shadows the first time your home or business gets damaged?
